A Beautiful Summer Cotswolds Wedding at The Manor House

It’s been such a busy wedding season this year and I’m so looking forward to sharing plenty of love stories with you! Today I’m bringing you some serious floral inspiration with Laura and Steffan’s big day at The Manor House in Castle Combe.

The Manor House, Castle Combe in the Cotswolds

The couple travelled from their home in London to spend the weekend surrounded by friends and family in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. Their wedding was effortlessly elegant and the couple wanted us to create a timeless, fairy-tale feel throughout., using plenty of delicate foliage and pillow-soft florals to complement the setting and Cotswold surroundings. The Church Ceremony

Laura adores peonies and was desperate to include them in the wedding, in particular the bridal bouquet. Although peony season was almost over, I thankfully managed to source a few for her bouquet, which really did look beautiful! Laura and Steffan opted for a traditional religious ceremony at St Andrew’s Church in Chippenham. We discussed in depth the floral visions that the couple had for their celebration, choosing to display two large statement urns at the altar and fresh rose petal confetti on a bed foliage lining the aisle.

Pillar candles in cylinder vases, completed the look beautifully, adding a warm ambience to the church. It’s always a pleasure to work with a fabulous team of suppliers – the combination of working alongside a planner and stylist for Laura and Steffan’s celebration helped to bring their visions to their life seamlessly, whilst Colette from Aurelia Allen Photography captured the day so beautifully. 

The Outdoor Drinks Reception

Following the ceremony, the newlyweds had chosen The Manor House in Castle Combe for their reception. We transferred the flowers from the church to the venue – repurposing florals is something we love doing at Flourish and Grace. It really makes the most of the beautiful blooms we have created, after all. Working closely with the couple’s stylist, we set-up the bandstand area on the lawn, dressing the drapes with fresh greenery. This created a stylish space for the band, where guests could mingle, sip on cocktails and enjoy the entertainment in the summer sunshine. We also adorned the outdoor wedding signage, and crafted a photo backdrop area using fresh petal confetti and additional draping. Cahoots Events Production provided poser tables, which we decorated with foliage for the ultimate cocktail hour! The floral design and decoration embraced the outdoor space on offer at this stunning Cotswold wedding venue. 

The Wedding Breakfast

Guests headed inside for the wedding breakfast, which took place in The Bybrook Restaurant. We utilised the urns that were originally in the church to make a statement behind the top table, while placing the pew ends into vases to line the windowsills for a romantic floral touch. For their guest tables, we created a variety of high and low centrepieces using hydrangeas, garden roses, peonies, spray roses, delphiniums and stocks. They were a gorgeous combination that created impact using the different heights, with gold riser stands for the tall centrepieces that allowed guests to chat easily across the table. For the small centrepiece, we filled gold glass footed bowls with flowers – these were moved upstairs to The Dunstanville Suite later in the evening for the wedding party to further enjoy once the party was over!
