A regal manor house wedding venue set within the rolling countryside of Northamptonshire, Kelmarsh Hall and Gardens was a picture-perfect location for our recent editorial shoot. The setting is dripping with history and abundant with decadent details. Yet it offers guests a relaxed and intimate feel and was the perfect space for a luxury wedding florist to adorn with florals!
The shoot took place in summer and was overflowing with beautiful blooms – some of which are team favourites here at Flourish and Grace. From hydrangeas to garden roses, peonies and delphiniums. This season lends itself to a variety of exquisite florals, particularly peonies. They are in high demand, but their season is incredibly limited and they are generally only available from April to June. This is of course something to be mindful of when enquiring at Flourish and Grace if you are fond of peonies!
Fine art wedding photographer, Sophie May Photography and Katie at The Event Designers wanted to encapsulate romance and opulence with an ethereal vibe throughout the editorial. Alongside a talented team of suppliers in the UK wedding industry, we used florals, decorations, styling and colour palettes to curate a light and airy style. From the statement gown to the timeless flower design, everything about this shoot will capture your heart, showcasing the magical talents of our luxury wedding suppliers on hand.
We endeavoured to mirror the intimacy that Kelmarsh Hall holds, opting to have just a bride and a groom photographed. Our couple were beautiful, with the bride-to-be wearing a jaw-dropping ruffle dress by Millia London, feature fashion-forward off-the-shoulder, oversized sleeves. An exquisite, personalised veil that was embroidered by Rebecca Anne Designs completed her aisle style, creating the perfect fusion of modern-meets-classic vibes for the bridal look.
Oodles of thoughtful details were used throughout our editorial, from the stylish bar area for those all-important post-ceremony cocktails, to the effortlessly elegant wedding cake by Sadie May Cakes. The Botanical Dyer provided hand-dyed silk ribbons that were tied around the stems of the bridal bouquet – something we love to use here at Flourish and Grace. We added a dash of luxury to the day, with bespoke elements such as escort cards and place settings featuring magnificent wax seals. The array of details that were contributed by various wedding suppliers throughout the shoot offers a subtle nod towards the importance of choosing who you work with, and considering how your suppliers work together a team to plan the day of your dreams.
Kelmarsh Hall is the epitome of historic charm, so we chose to embrace the grandeur of the setting with statement floral decorations adorning the fireplace, magnificent urns place at the entrance of the venue and flower installations at the end of the tables. As a luxury wedding florist, I adore creating larger floral features for our clientele, adding to the elegance and luxury of a couple’s wedding day.
