Hillary & Natango’s Countryside Manor House Wedding at Brympton House

It was an absolute pleasure to create the flowers for Hillary & Natango’s beautiful Somerset wedding. Located in the rolling hills in the south west of England, Brympton House is the perfect location for a multi-day wedding. As the bride and groom are based in the United States, this offered them the perfect opportunity for friends and family to join them for a relaxed and quintessentially English celebration of their union across a fabulous flower-filled three days. Even though their wedding took place in July, I was able to source a selection of stunning peonies (the bride’s favourite, they have a notoriously short season!) and these were the focal flower for her classic bouquet. We also filled the venue with blousy, statement blooms such as hydrangeas, roses, delphiniums, stocks and sweet peas to create a timeless and elegant style with beautifully scented varieties.

Guests arrived to a garden party in the beautiful orchard, where they could spend time together and enjoy the glorious warm summer evening before waking up refreshed on the wedding day. Afterwards a late brunch followed by wandering through the gorgeous grounds of this Grade 1 listed venue was on the cards before the emotional and fond farewells. Their wonderful photographers Catherine and Andy of White Stag Weddings captured every moment of their destination wedding so beautifully on what was a truly memorable day.

The charming 14th century chapel, Castle House, was the setting for their intimate ceremony. We created a stunning asymmetrical arch at the altar which was a stunning backdrop for their vows (and also their emotional first-look photos too!). The aisle was lined with loose, fresh rose petals to create a romantic walkway, and we used scented foliage such as eucalyptus with hanging wisteria to adorn the beams across the aisle. This was complemented by fresh, trailing greenery in the windowsills, accompanied by candles styled beautifully by Brympton Styling and large, draping posies of flowers and foliage tied to the pews.

Catherine and Andy captured the happy couple’s wonderful confetti throw as they exited the ceremony as husband and wife. This was followed by rapturous applause as a fabulous marching band followed them in a procession along the south terrace – what a magical moment! Before heading to The Ballroom for the wedding breakfast, couple portraits were captured in the afternoon sun on the lawn and the couple beamed with happiness whilst surrounded by their closest friends and family.

Afterwards guests made their way inside the house to the beautiful Ballroom, where we used a combination of centrepieces to decorate the tables for the wedding breakfast. Hillary and Natango opted for a sweetheart top table (a smaller table that solely seats the newlyweds) whilst their guests were positioned on two king’s tables (with place settings either side of a rectangular table) or traditional round tables. We filled the windowsills with floral displays and this was also reflected on the mantlepieces opposite. Flower and foliage garland runners were accompanied by romantic candlelight and the couple had thoughtfully placed a hand written letter to each guest at their place setting, such a unique touch!

We are so fortunate to be the florist for weddings at many beautiful venues across the south west including venues in Somerset, Wiltshire, Devon and the Cotswolds, but Brympton House definitely holds a special place in our heart, it really is the most picturesque countryside manor.
