Lucy & Tom’s Chic Central London Wedding at The Ned

On a beautiful, crisp September day I had the pleasure of flowering Lucy and Tom’s elegant central London wedding at The Ned.

London was celebrating!

Coincidentally, their wedding took place on the same day that King Charles III was proclaimed the new monarch, with a procession through the capital starting at The Royal Exchange (which just happens to be directly opposite the location of their wedding). It was certainly an eventful morning with central roads closed by armed police and crowds gathering with excitement to witness the proclamation. Their wonderful photographer Rebecca Searle was on hand to capture all of the action on what was a truly memorable day.

The Church Ceremony

The stunning 17th century church St Stephen Walbrook was the setting for their intimate ceremony. Guests were greeted by two statement urns on arrival at the entrance to the church after ascending the historical stone steps from street-level. We decorated the altar with a meadow display featuring blousy blooms such as roses and hydrangeas, with trailing greenery spilling onto the marble floor. Romantic pillar candles created an intimate atmosphere for their vows. Fresh rose petal confetti was provided for their gorgeous confetti photo at the entrance to the church afterwards – just magical!

Rebecca captured Lucy and Tom on the streets of London surrounding The Ned. The stunning architecture was a beautiful backdrop to their romantic couple portraits.

The Wedding Breakfast

Afterwards guests made the short journey across the road to The Ned, a fabulous, luxury hotel across 6 floors with enviable views of the city from the terrace (the perfect spot for group photos). This exclusive hotel boasts 10 restaurants, 250 guest bedrooms and a whole floor dedicated to weddings and events. We decorated each space with florals, creating a cohesive design throughout with flowers on all of the signs and vases or bowls filled with flowers and foliage adorning the surfaces.

The statement decoration with this beautiful arch at the doorway to the terrace. Here guests were served canapés and fizz before making their way into The Tapestry Room for the wedding breakfast. Low level centrepieces of abundant bud vases accompanied by candlelight were used here to create an understated, chic style. We also transferred the urn arrangements from the church and placed these at the entrance to the room – they became a popular backdrop for guest photos too!
