Luxury Wedding Flowers at The Ned, London
There is something unmistakable about a wedding in the heart of London. From grand historic buildings to elegant hotels and private members’ clubs, the city offers an incredible backdrop for a celebration, and an equally exciting opportunity for considered floral design.
We have had the pleasure of creating wedding flowers at The Ned on a number of occasions, designing everything from abundant ceremony installations and statement urns to elegant reception flowers and candlelit tablescapes. Having also taken part in the venue’s wedding showcase, it is a space we have come to know particularly well.
Each celebration has been completely different, but all have allowed us to explore how flowers can complement The Ned’s distinctive architecture and richly detailed interiors while creating an atmosphere that feels personal to each couple.
Designing Wedding Flowers for The Ned
When working within an iconic venue such as The Ned, we always begin by considering the surroundings.
The building already has an incredible sense of character, with soaring ceilings, historic detailing, wood-panelled rooms and beautiful architectural features. Rather than competing with these elements, we use flowers to draw attention to them, creating designs that feel naturally connected to the setting.
Across the weddings we have created here, this has resulted in very different floral stories. Soft blush and ivory flowers have created a romantic, elegant atmosphere, while abundant green and white designs have brought a more timeless feel. Richer pinks and seasonal tones have transformed the rooms again, demonstrating just how differently the same venue can feel through flowers.
An Abundant Floral Ceremony at The Ned
One of the most beautiful opportunities for flowers at The Ned is the ceremony itself.
For Nancy and Tom’s wedding, we created an abundant floral installation around the fireplace, filling the space with layers of roses, hydrangeas and seasonal flowers in shades of soft pink, blush, ivory and deeper berry tones.
Flowers spilled organically around the fireplace and onto the floor, creating an immersive backdrop for their vows while still allowing the beautiful architecture of the room to remain part of the design.
Low floral arrangements continued along the aisle, drawing the eye towards the ceremony and creating a sense of abundance throughout the room rather than concentrating all of the flowers in one place.
For other celebrations at The Ned, we have interpreted the same setting completely differently. Classic white and green flowers have created a timeless, sophisticated look, while more delicate meadow-style designs have allowed the architecture and interiors to take centre stage.
It is one of the things we love most about returning to a venue. Familiarity with the space gives us an understanding of what works practically, while each new couple gives us the opportunity to create something entirely individual.
A London Church Ceremony Followed by The Ned
The Ned also works beautifully for couples choosing to marry elsewhere in the city before returning to the hotel for their reception.
For Lucy and Tom, their ceremony took place at the magnificent St Stephen Walbrook, just a short distance from The Ned.
Two statement floral urns welcomed guests into the church, while an abundant meadow of soft blush, ivory and white flowers framed the altar. Roses, hydrangeas and delicate seasonal flowers were combined with trailing greenery, with candlelight bringing warmth to the historic interior.
Following the ceremony, the couple and their guests made their way through the city to The Ned for their reception, while elements of the ceremony flowers were carefully repurposed to be enjoyed again.
Designing flowers in this way allows the floral story to travel with the celebration, creating continuity between very different spaces while making the most of statement arrangements throughout the day.
Elegant Wedding Reception Flowers at The Ned
Once guests move into dinner, the atmosphere at The Ned changes again.
For each of the weddings we have created here, the reception flowers have been designed in response to both the room and the wider aesthetic of the celebration.
Long tables filled with delicate bud vases can create a beautifully understated look, while abundant low arrangements bring greater colour and texture to the table. Layers of candlelight work particularly well within The Ned’s interiors, reflecting against glassware and chandeliers and bringing warmth to the rooms as daylight fades.
For Nancy and Tom, shades of pink continued through the wedding breakfast, with flowers interspersed amongst elegant crystal candlesticks and soft pink taper candles. For other celebrations, white and green flowers have provided a more restrained contrast against the rich wood panelling and historic tapestries.
We always consider the entire room rather than simply designing individual centrepieces. The flowers, candlelight, table styling and architecture should work together so that guests experience one beautifully considered setting as they enter.
The Logistics Behind a Luxury London Wedding
Creating flowers for a central London wedding involves considerably more than the finished arrangements guests see.
Access restrictions, loading schedules, installation windows, venue requirements, room turnarounds and timings across the wider supplier team all need to be considered during the planning process, particularly when creating large-scale floral installations.
Having worked extensively at London wedding venues, our team considers these practical details alongside the creative design from the outset.
Our familiarity with The Ned is particularly valuable. Working within a busy central London venue requires careful coordination, and larger floral designs need to be planned not only around how they will look, but around how they can be transported, installed and, where appropriate, repurposed during the celebration.
We regularly work alongside wedding planners, production teams and venues to coordinate these details behind the scenes, allowing our couples to simply experience the finished result.
