5 Reasons to Plan a Luxury Multi-Day Wedding
For many couples, one day simply does not feel long enough to celebrate with the people they love most. A multi-day wedding gives you time to slow down, spend more time with your guests and create an experience that extends beyond the wedding day itself.
This is particularly special when friends and family are travelling internationally. We regularly work with couples from the USA who choose to host their destination wedding in the UK. For some, England is the destination itself. For others, one partner is British and the other American, with celebrations taking place on both sides of the Atlantic.
From a relaxed welcome party to the wedding day and a farewell brunch, each event can have its own atmosphere. It also creates wonderful opportunities to develop the floral design throughout the celebrations.

One of the greatest luxuries of a multi-day wedding is time.
When guests are travelling from across the UK, the USA or further afield, the wedding often becomes part of a much longer trip. Celebrating over several days gives you more opportunities to spend meaningful time together.
A welcome party provides a relaxed beginning to the celebrations. It allows everyone to settle into the destination, reconnect and enjoy the anticipation of the wedding ahead.
Following the wedding, a farewell breakfast or brunch brings everyone together once more before they begin their journeys home.
The wedding day itself can pass incredibly quickly. Extending the celebrations gives you more time to enjoy everything you have spent so long planning.
2. Develop Your Floral Story Across Several Days
One of my favourite aspects of designing flowers for a multi-day wedding is the opportunity to create a floral story that develops throughout the celebrations.
The welcome party does not need to feel like a smaller version of the wedding day. Instead, we can introduce elements of the floral design before developing the colour palette, scale and atmosphere for the main celebration.
For example, a welcome dinner might begin with a more relaxed approach to flowers and a playful use of colour. The following day, the palette could become more refined and the floral designs more abundant for the ceremony and reception.
Alternatively, a particular flower or colour can appear throughout the celebrations, creating a subtle connection between each event.
Where appropriate, we can also plan for selected wedding flowers to be repurposed for a farewell breakfast or brunch the following morning. Statement arrangements might be carefully moved and restyled, allowing guests to enjoy the flowers for another part of the celebration.
Repurposing is always considered during the design process. This ensures the arrangements work beautifully within each space rather than feeling as though they have simply been moved from one event to another.
3. Create a Destination Wedding Experience in England
A destination wedding does not necessarily mean leaving the UK.
We regularly work with international couples who choose England for their destination wedding. In particular, couples travelling from the USA are drawn to historic houses, private estates and the beauty of the English countryside.
For some couples, both partners live overseas and bring their friends and family to England for several days. For others, one partner is British and the other American. In this case, the wedding can become an opportunity to bring two families, cultures and groups of friends together.
Recently, we created flowers for an international celebration that began with a welcome event at Hedsor House, followed by the wedding day at Cliveden House. The couple and many of their guests travelled from the USA, creating a true destination wedding experience in England.
Working across multiple events and venues requires careful planning. We consider installation schedules, access, floral logistics and how each design will work within its individual setting.
We are also very accustomed to planning with couples based overseas. Working closely with your wedding planner and wider creative team allows the process to feel seamless, even when much of the planning takes place from another country.
4. Turn a European Destination Wedding Into an Experience
Multi-day celebrations are equally suited to destination weddings across Europe.
When guests have travelled internationally, the wedding often becomes part of a wider holiday. A welcome party gives everyone the opportunity to settle into the destination before the wedding day itself.
For a recent wedding in Cannes, friends and family travelled from both the USA and UK to the South of France. The celebrations began with a beach club party and dinner before the wedding the following day.
Although we created the flowers for the wedding day rather than the welcome event on this occasion, understanding the complete celebration was still important. The floral design formed part of a much wider experience for the couple and their guests.
The destination itself also provides inspiration. From a villa overlooking Lake Como to a château in France, we consider the architecture, landscape and atmosphere when developing the floral concept.
This allows the flowers to feel naturally connected to their surroundings and the wider experience of the celebration.
5. Enjoy Your Wedding Without Feeling Rushed
Perhaps the greatest benefit of a multi-day wedding is simply having more time to enjoy it.
After months, and sometimes years, of planning, it can feel strange for the entire celebration to be over within a single day.
A wedding weekend changes the pace.
There is time to welcome your guests properly and enjoy the anticipation before the ceremony. Afterwards, there is another opportunity to spend time together before everyone travels home.
For couples bringing together family and friends from different countries, this can feel particularly meaningful.
Instead of one event, your wedding becomes a collection of experiences and memories shared over several days.

Creating flowers for a multi-day celebration requires both creative vision and careful logistical planning.
We consider the complete wedding itinerary when developing the floral concept. This includes the atmosphere of each event, the spaces being used and how the design should evolve throughout the celebrations.
The flowers might begin with understated arrangements for a welcome dinner before becoming more abundant for the wedding day. Alternatively, colour can develop throughout the weekend, creating a floral journey that feels cohesive without becoming repetitive.
We also consider where statement flowers will have the greatest impact. Where appropriate, installations and arrangements can be carefully repurposed between spaces or events.
However, there is no single formula. Every floral plan is created around the couple, their venues and the way they have chosen to celebrate.
